My LVL Lash Experience...

As I have very straight, very fair eyelashes, I have obviously always wanted what I cant/don't have, which is curly black eyelashes. On Instagram and on YouTube I have witnessed girls have an eyelash treatment called LVL lashes. LVL stands for length-volume-lift, which is exactly what you get. During the treatment the therapist uses a strengthening serum at the root of your natural lashes allowing them to look as though they are curled upwards, and then your lashes are tinted to create the appearance of mascara. I am absolutely in love with my lashes and I will never go back to semi permanent lashes because this treatment for me allows my lashes to look thicker and fuller and as though I am wearing falsies, also unlike semi permanent lashes, this treatment does not make you lose your eyelashes because without a doubt every time I had semi permanent falsies, I would end up pulling them off due to some already falling out or due to them irritating me. Its all down to personal preference but I am obsessed with this treatment. I went to the "Warrington Brow and Lash Clinic" for my LVL lashes but i'm positive that many places carry out this treatment, if you haven't tried it already I deeply recommend that you do! Here are a few pictures of the treatment, don't let this put you off, it doesn't hurt it just feels a little weird, but the outcome is soooo worth it. (in these pictures my makeup was rubbed off because obviously the therapist had to touch my face, so just a disclaimer, my eyebrows/skin does not look its best!)

Then i thought i would post a posey picture of my lashes 2 days later! with NO mascara.
I AM OBSESSED.

My Eyebrows..

Hi everyone, today I've decided to post about how I maintain my eyebrows. Being blonde means that my eyebrows are naturally very light and are quite thin, they are also very odd and have been over-plucked and waxed over the years. For a while now I have been dying and plucking my eyebrows myself because I personally believe that if you want a job done correctly, then you should do it yourself. However, if you trust someone else with your eyebrows then that's up to you, I have personally had bad experiences and grown very attached to my eyebrows so I take responsibility for them!

Soooo, I dye my eyebrows with any dark brown hair dye (usually the cheapest I can find on the shelf). This root touch up I have used a few times because the products inside are smaller and therefore it's not a waste when the dye almost expires. Also this is usually £5 or under and I can dye my eyebrows multiple times and it has only cost me £5, compared to what i would pay to get them done at a beauty parlor or shop which would usually come to around £8. To remove the dye I use Garnier wipes for sensitive skin, but that is just personal preference.

Firstly, I mix the dye and the developer in this little plastic bowl and then use cotton buds to apply it to my brows. Try to avoid the surrounding area of the brow but if you do manage to get dye on your skin surrounding your brow, just go around with a makeup wipe or another clean cotton bud to remove it.

These are my brows completely untouched for a few weeks, lacking my preferred darkness and are also in desperate need of a pluck!

Then these are my brows after the first application of dye (on the left) and then after they have been plucked (on the right). Please excuse any redness in the pictures, I'm wearing no makeup!

Then these pictures are when they are filled in, I have recently bought a lighter shade of product to try on my eyebrows, just to see if I prefer it, but the application of my eyebrows wont change and i will post a video soon ( www.youtube.com/laurensharrockk ) on how I apply the products as I have been asked so many times and been given a lot of compliments!

I currently use all brow products by Anastasia Beverley Hills in soft brown (brow wiz), medium brown/soft brown (pomade) and dark brown (powder duo). I also use the tinted brow gel in granite and also use the clear brow gel! All products can be bought from www.beautybay.com

Thankyou so much for reading!

A psychological cleanse...

I feel like life is full of surprises, some that are good and some that are... well, not. You're told these little myths that when one door closes another one opens and in some cases it's what you need to hear or read, but in reality what you need is to know exactly where you stand. Personally I am finished with allowing other people to pick me up, I need to start picking myself up in my own time and in my own way. However, when going through a hard situation in your life, it shouldn't have to be done alone, there should be support and people behind you just in case the time comes when you are suddenly knocked back, to be honest you need that in almost every situation good or bad.

I find it really weird how people can begin to make a permanent space for themselves within your life but then one day just be gone, with no reason, no explanation and you're the one left to pick up the pieces. You feel so hard done by and affected by something that can be so small and so insignificant in your life and something that can be easily sorted by a matter of a very very simple concept...conversation. Sometimes though, its a matter of space and alone time and there are no hard or negative feelings towards this person but just the fact that you need to take a step back and re-evaluate. I have no problem with this personally as you are always going to need that time for yourself to just cleanse yourself almost, of all the bad days, the horrific words said and received, just to psychologically let go. But how long does this take? And what happens if when you're done, everything has changed, this psychological cleanse has not only pushed negativity away but also pushed people away? Are we supposed to just expect the unexpected to then nod our heads at the outcome and move on? What if your the person who has been oblivious to this and ignored what is happening around you and to the other person because you are so fixed on what you feel needs fixing? NOTHING is perfect in the first place, but what if your trying to fix something that isn't necessarily broken. We need to stop having expectations of things and people, because most of the time it only leads to disappointment for ourselves. I believe that people should just do what they need to do and take the time they need to do what they feel is right. My only piece of advice I have to give after this confusing understanding is that, just because you're trying to improve something in yourself or in your life, it doesn't mean you have any right to bash and hurt the people who have supported you on your way up. You're always going to need someone to hold the ladder for you at the bottom. And all im saying is, dont take advantage of that, because all they need to do is take the impact of your push or your bash and lose their balance, then your both hurt, at the bottom with a confused mind wondering where it all went wrong.

More fun in the sun; Majorca.

Literally ten days after I came back from Gran Canaria, I was back on the plane again with my family to Majorca. We stayed in a beautiful hotel called marina portals; the rooms were absolutely amazing and it was a very peaceful atmosphere but surrounded by much more. From personal experience i would suggest a hire car as you can visit the many extraordinary places that Majorca has to offer. Here are some pictures of my visit, I loved my stay here and I hope you enjoy!

(these pictures were taken by a camera, whereas my other posts were by iphone, so they may be different in size and quality. Hopefully a beneficial difference.)
